Setting up tutoring rooms and inviting your students.
What happens to the whiteboard after the lesson?
It stays in the room. Open the same URL next week and last week’s shapes, equations, and notes are exactly where you left them. Each room has multiple pages, so you can keep notes per chapter or topic.
How do I invite a student?
From your dashboard, enter the student’s email. They get an invite link, claim their account, and a shared tutoring room appears for both of you. No new link to send before every session — the room URL stays the same forever.
Can I tutor a small group, not just one student?
Yes. The room supports more than one student at a time. Today, the dashboard pairs you 1-to-1 per room; if you want a small-group setup, email us at hello@lumenboard.net and we’ll help.
Privacy
What we collect, where it lives, and what we don’t do with it.
What about student data privacy?
We don’t sell student data. We don’t use lesson data to train models. We don’t show ads. You can delete a room and its message history at any time. Full privacy policy is in the works.
Will you support FERPA / COPPA / SSO / district contracts?
Not today. We’re focused on solo tutors and tutoring centers first. If you’re a school or district, join the waitlist at /waitlist and we’ll reach out when the institutional plan is ready.
Billing
Plans, cancellations, and what to expect at renewal.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly plans cancel at the end of the current month. If you ever pay annually, you keep access through the period you paid for.
When is pricing locked in?
Final prices are TBD as part of the rebrand. Sign up now and we’ll lock in launch pricing for you when it goes live — no retroactive surprises.
Technical requirements
What students need to join, and what works on which device.
Do my students need to download anything?
No. LumenBoard runs in the browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. They follow the link, allow camera + mic, and they’re in.
Is there a mobile app?
The room itself is desktop-only for now — teaching on a phone is unpleasant. We’ll add proper tablet support soon.
